Angola Speedway June 2, 2007

Saturday June 2, 2007 I made my first trip in many years to Angola, Indiana to attend the races at Angola Speedway. The facility is immaculate to say the least. The track has recently underwent total renovations, which include new aluminum grandstands, new concessions, digital scoreboard, new asphalt pit area and tech barn just to name a few of the improvents which I know of. The highlight of the night was a 50 lap late model feature paying $1,500 to win. A nice 24 car field showed up to contend for the money. There were three other divisions racing as well, the modifieds, street stocks and the 4-cylinders in addition to the late models which packed the pits for a great night of racing. I would recommend to anyone to visit a race at Angola Speedway. The facility is one of the nicest, well kept tracks I have visited.
This Saturday June 9, 2007 the late models highlight the action again, this time 75 laps and $2,000 to win, which should pull in a few more cars to race. In July they have a 100 lap late model race paying $5,000 to win. You can check out the website for more information at www.angolaspeedway.net
