Outlaw Super Late Models From Angola Speedway.

This past weekend I made the 71 mile trip back to Angola Speedway for the Super Late Model 75 lap - $2000 to win feature, along with the modifieds, street stocks and 4-cylinders.

The Super Late feature was very competitive with Bud Perry jumping out to the early lead, then loosing the lead to Jack Landis until he retired early from the race with engine woes. Jeff Finley eventually made the pass for lead near the half-way point only to get passed by a hard charging Jeff Parr who went on to win the $2000 in decisive fashion.

The # 28 of Jimmy Carter ran a good race and finished 6th in the 75 lap feature after winning last week's $1500 top prize. The #28 is one of the nicest looking (and fast) Super Late Models competing this year. The team has been traveling to many tracks this year from their BrookPark, Ohio home base and have run very well at all their events.

The #10 of Bud Perry.

Brent Jack was fast qualifier for the super late models.

Jeff Finley finished 2nd in the 75 lap feature.

Angola Speedway June 2, 2007

Saturday June 2, 2007 I made my first trip in many years to Angola, Indiana to attend the races at Angola Speedway. The facility is immaculate to say the least. The track has recently underwent total renovations, which include new aluminum grandstands, new concessions, digital scoreboard, new asphalt pit area and tech barn just to name a few of the improvents which I know of. The highlight of the night was a 50 lap late model feature paying $1,500 to win. A nice 24 car field showed up to contend for the money. There were three other divisions racing as well, the modifieds, street stocks and the 4-cylinders in addition to the late models which packed the pits for a great night of racing. I would recommend to anyone to visit a race at Angola Speedway. The facility is one of the nicest, well kept tracks I have visited.
This Saturday June 9, 2007 the late models highlight the action again, this time 75 laps and $2,000 to win, which should pull in a few more cars to race. In July they have a 100 lap late model race paying $5,000 to win. You can check out the website for more information at www.angolaspeedway.net

The #99 CRA Super Series car of Jason Shively.

The CRA Super Series along with the ARCA Late Models each competed in 100 lap features in what has become a Memorial weekend tradition at Toledo Speedway. The winner of the CRA feature was Chris Gabehart who won unchallenged with an almost straight-away lead. The winner of the ARCA outlaw late models was Harold Fair, Jr. who also had a large lead at times during the race, but the second place finisher of Brent Jack closed the distance to make it exciting in the final laps.

ASA Late Model Series and Dave Kuhlman this weekend at Toledo Speedway.

The ASALMS will make their first ever appearance at Toledo Speedway on April 20-21. In addition to the ASALMS regulars, Dave Kuhlman will also make his ASALMS debut. Kuhlman has been very sucessful at Toledo Speedway to say the least, with many, many wins and championsips at the half-mile high- high banked track.
